"What is The Burning Light?"
The Burning Light is my alternate universe Warrior Cats fanfiction that takes place in a version of the Warrior Cats world where Firestar is killed by Scourge in the battle against BloodClan.
The story takes place over thirty years after the events of The Darkest Hour and focuses on a full cast of original characters as they nagivate the threat against BloodClan.
Blurb
Generations after Firestar's untimely death and the clan's exile from their home, Scourge's descendants have turned BloodClan into an unstoppable force, where any cat who doesn't submit will be met with a terrible fate; all the while the clans have enjoyed peace from the city cats, now dismissing their past threat as nothing more than a story to scare the kits.
Sunny and Blossom, two residents of the city who had spent their entire lives evading BloodClan, seek refuge with the cats of ThunderClan after being separated from their sole guardian and protector. Though things are great, Sunny finds herself unable to receive the acceptance and approval she wants from the clan cats, especially from an apprentice named Pinepaw. After three months of sanctuary, BloodClan suddenly attacks, raising questions regarding their unclear motives, the safety of all four clans, and on top of that, whether Sunny and Blossom will ever be able to escape BloodClan's wrath.
Origin
The Burning Light initially started out as a collaborative OC project on DeviantArt back in 2014. I was very young at the time and had taken heavy inspiration from various popular Warrior Cats fanartists and from there, decided I wanted to write a fanfiction where every single character was owned by a different person. I thought it was fun thinking about all the characters being fully fleshed out OC's, and so I posted an application for people to fill out and a few people did just that! For the next year or so I worked with them to learn about their characters and began posting the (very bad) first version of the story, The Fight Begins. As time passed, I stopped talking with the friends I made through the project and left it for a bit, that was until about a little while later when I decided to pick it up again but this time, it would be my own personal project. Over the years the story grew and grew, becoming an AU focused around Firestar and Scourge, and over ten years after it's initial conception as a bad fanfic on DeviantArt, The Burning Light has offically started to be posted!
